Rhett Collier - Celebrity Fashion Stylist
Los Angeles New York Paris

I have many special moments in my career as a fashion stylist. But the ones that especially come to mind still resonate as if they occurred just yesterday. Here are a few.

M.C. Trouble was a young artist signed with Motown and the first “rap” artist that I ever worked with. A personal pair of black suede gloves with gold wrist chains used on her C.D. cover became one of her favorite trademarks. With her untimely death, I felt that those gloves should remain with her.

While working with Heather Locklear for a T.V. Guide Magazine cover shoot, I asked her to select which of the dresses she preferred to wear. She left the choice to me.

I especially enjoyed a photo session with Maggie Gyllenhaal. The photographer decided to hire fencing athletes as part of the session making it cinemagraphic.

Redken provided me with the opportunity to make advertising art. It was during one of these collaborations with Redken that I first worked with a young starlet, Charlize Theron.

Alfaparf Milano was the first hair campaign that focused on the merging of hair design and fashion. The collaboration with Alfaparf was like styling a fashion editorial.

In fashion, I have special memories of Guinevere van Seenus and Lindsay Ellingson, who became one of the 2011 Victoria’s Secret Signature Angels. I knew each was destined to be a superstar as was another bright face I worked with – the beautiful Jasmine Tookes. Fast forward 2017, and Jasmine Tookes is not only an icon, she is a Victoria's Secret Angel, and was awarded the honour of wearing the star Fantasy bra in the 2016 fashion show in Paris.
